Testimonials

I visited to see a special exhibit dedicated to NASA and the original Moon shot. The special exhibit was very well presented in a very large space. The rest of the museum was good, too. They did a nice job of representing Virginia quilt art and history. It's two stories and a basement, so be ready for some stairs. There was a modest entrance fee, too. Staff was friendly and knowledgeable.

At first, I was not expecting much from the Virginia Quilt Museum (VQM) as I had not heard much about it. While visiting my girlfriend in Harrisonburg, Virginia - I decided to stop by and see what they had to offer. Spanning three floors, the Virginia Quilt Museum is not so much a history museum as it is a contemporary showcase of modern quilts. Though there are some historical pieces in here, I was pleasantly surprised at the modern adapations of the craft that they had on display. I would post pictures, but you really have to see it in person! All in all, I enjoyed my visit greatly.
